D'Orano Castle is located along the road that takes you to Mount Terminio. It was built by Angelo Rutoli in 1609.
Today the Fortress is in private hands, it has a quadrilateral layout with round angle-towers and an interior courtyard. The fortified walls of the Castle are armed with strong battlements. The round Towers are not more than twelve m. high.
The Castle was damaged by several earthquakes and for a long period completely abandoned. Lately the Castle has been restored and underwent several changes that transformed its original structure.
